Frequently Asked Questions

Maintenance Corps, their management, and process can be confusing and understanding the process is important. Click below for some of the most frequently asked questions.

The cost of volunteering

Let’s face it, there’s a cost associated with living on a street with only open grass, woods, and a creek as your view. Whether that cost is paid in dollars or hard work, is up to you. By law this maintenance corp is responsible for maintaining this natural area. And due to the sloping design of this street and the pace at which nature grows, this can be a lot of work. Maintaining this can be done through volunteerism or dollars. The less volunteers we get, the more dollars we have to pay out each year. The goal is to keep our out-of-pocket costs low by having each owner contribute in some way. We get it. Everyone is busy, time is money, someone else will do it. That is until they won’t and the GVMC is forced to raise annual dues.
